At Gainz and Shreds, we’re committed to fueling your success with meals that not only taste incredible but also pack a nutritional punch. And this month, we’re diving deep into one of the MVPs of heart-healthy eating: omega-3s and salmon. But first, let’s take a moment to explore some other superstar foods for heart health.

Heart-Healthy Food Options

Fuel your heart with these nutrient-dense options, perfect for a balanced diet:

  1. LEAFY GREENS: Packed with antioxidants and nutrients, leafy greens like spinach, kale, and Swiss chard are a must-have for heart health. Toss them into smoothies, salads, or protein bowls to give your meals a nutritious boost.

  1. BERRIES: These sweet, flavorful fruits are loaded with flavonoids, which help reduce the risk of heart disease. Add them to your oats, yogurt, or protein shakes—or snack on them fresh!

  2. NUTS & SEEDS: Almonds, walnuts, chia seeds, and flaxseeds are rich in omega-3s, fiber, and unsaturated fats. Sprinkle them over your meals or enjoy them as a crunchy snack.

  1. WHOLE GRAINS: Oats, quinoa, and brown rice are high in fiber, which helps lower cholesterol. Swap refined grains for these heart-friendly options to support your goals.

  1. FATTY FISH: A true powerhouse for heart health, fatty fish like salmon is loaded with omega-3s that reduce inflammation and support cardiovascular function.

Why Omega-3s and Salmon Matter for Heart Health

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential fats that your body can’t produce on its own, but they play a critical role in heart health. These healthy fats help reduce inflammation, lower triglyceride levels, and improve overall heart function.

Among all the sources of omega-3s, salmon stands out as a top choice. Not only is it rich in these essential fats, but it’s also packed with high-quality protein, vitamin D, B12, and selenium. Its versatility makes it easy to enjoy—whether grilled, baked, or featured in creative dishes like those you’ll find on our menu.

Gainz and Shreds Salmon Favorites

This month, we’re shining the spotlight on some of our salmon dishes that are as delicious as they are good for your heart:

  • BUILD-YOUR-OWN SINGLE MEALS: Like the rest of the Gainz and Shreds menu, our Single Meals are completely customizable! Pick your salmon portion size and pair with different flavors (we have over 10 to choose from!), carbs, and veggies. Some popular combos include teriyaki salmon with white rice and broccoli, and lemon pepper salmon with green beans and red potatoes.

And we can’t forget to highlight one of our BIGGEST salmon fans... our Chief Operating Officer and Director of Marketing’s mother! As a self-proclaimed picky eater, she LOVES our salmon and sweet potatoes meal, and our Low-Carb Salmon Enchiladas too! If it gets her seal of approval, we know you’ll love it too!

  • LOW-CARB SALMON ENCHILADAS: A fresh spin on a classic dish, the newest addition to our trio of low-carb enchiladas are packed with flavor and protein (3 ounces of salmon in each shell for 6 ounces total!) while keeping the carbs in check.

  • BUILD-YOUR-OWN MEAL PACKAGES: Just like our Single Meals, you can customize a pack of 5, 8, or 10 meals to stock up for a week of healthy and delicious food. And you don’t have to stick to just salmon – our Protein Combo Meal Packages let you mix and match with other heart healthy proteins like shrimp and tilapia, or classics like chicken, turkey, ground beef, and Tri-Tip steak.

  • ORDER IN BULK: If you prefer to “DIY” your meals at home, order salmon from our Bulk Menu along with other proteins, carbs, and veggies. Switch things up all week!

How to Add More Omega-3s to Your Diet

Incorporating omega-3-rich foods like salmon into your routine doesn’t have to be complicated. Here are some simple tips:

  1. Enjoy salmon at least twice a week for its heart-boosting benefits.

  2. Add salmon to tacos, grain bowls, or even salads for a quick and flavorful meal.

  3. Let Gainz and Shreds take the guesswork out of meal prep with our ready-to-enjoy salmon dishes!
